Our second event took place on Sunday, November 21st, 2010 and it was wonderful. Once again the event was standing room only. Our reader was Cathrynne M. Valente and with her were the dancers Jezebel Wood, Mary Cyn and Katie Lennon. Accompanying them was our newly inaugurated house band, Brian Francis Slattery and the West Constantinople Squeezebox All-Stars

Before embarking on her tour, Cat Valente put up this hilarious video explaining the TOTALLY TRUE backstory of Prester John, the subject of her novel, by way of action figures:

Ed and I began the show with an improvised sketch. It was very silly:

Then Cat read three excerpts from her book, accompanied by the lovely dancers in various states of undress and New York:

The Habitation of the Blessed Launch Party with Catherynne Valente and featuring medieval multimedia, burlesque belly-dancing, and musical madness! Catherynne M. Valente will read from her newest novel, a journey into the medieval myth of Prester John. Brian Francis Slattery and the West Constantinople Squeezebox All-Stars return to the Wold to provide the soundtrack while Jezebel Wood, Mary Cyn, and Katie Lennon will perform belly dancing and burlesque.

The event last night was again packed and super awesomesauce with awesome on top. Special thanks to Cat Valente, The West Constantinople Squeezebox All-Stars, Jezebel Wood, Mary Cyn and Katie Lennon for putting on such a great show.
